Rashmi Ravishankar
Rashmi is a PhD Candidate with the Computational Science & Engineering (CSE) and Aeronautics & Astronautics (AeroAstro) Programs at MIT. Her research at the Engineering Systems Lab focuses on the co-optimization of hardware and software for onboard computing/edge computing on satellites.
Rashmi graduated with an S.M in Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) from MIT in 2022, working on the detection and capacity estimation of residential and commercial photovoltaics on satellite imagery, winning the Mathworks Prize for best masters thesis. She is an MIT Energy Fellow ’22, ’23, and Matt Isakowitz Fellow ’23.
Prior to her graduate studies, Rashmi received B.Tech, M.Tech degrees in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) and worked at McKinsey & Company. In her free time, she enjoys practicing Indian classical dance and music, recreational sports, and traveling.
